Q&A
Sakalaukus... How do you pronounce that?
Like this: sock - a - LOCK - us!
What in tarnation is eDesign?
Simply put, eDesign is traditional interior design service with all the luxuries of modern convenience. All consultations are held via phone or Skype, and all project documents are digitally produced then emailed as .pdf and/ or .jpg files. In short, you get to stay in your pajamas during our meetings!
Why eDesign and not "regular design"?
eDesign is my primary design process so that you are able to benefit from customized designs no matter where you are in the country! I’ve had the opportunity to live in several beautiful states, and I love having the ability to design for customers from the places I’ve lived, as well as all over the U. S. of A. Having said all of that, if you live in the Tri-Cities area of Washington, I am happy to design for you with traditional face to face meetings, if you prefer.
I'm an industry partner, can you help me?
I love working with Realtors, builders, contractors, etc.!
I don't know what I need...
That’s what I’m here for! No design is ever the same as another. Contact me via phone or email and I'll customize a plan that will be most beneficial to you.
You provide designs for DIYers; I don’t know if I’d consider myself a do-it-yourselfer. I don't really have to paint it myself do I?
Not to worry, no physical work is necessary to be a DIYer – hiring subcontractors and delegating work to handymen also puts you in the DIY boat! I define a do-it-yourself-er as someone who enjoys their home and wants an active role in making it fabulous.
Can you design my office?
Of course! Contact me, and we'll discuss your specific needs.
When I see what I like, I’ll just buy it. Do I really need a budget?
Wait, hold the phone! You absolutely need a budget. Let me tell you why... and, it’s not because my income is based on a percentage of your project. I charge either hourly or per service. You need a budget because you have expensive taste. Most of us do. When asked to choose between two sofas without seeing the price tag, you’re going to choose the one with better quality. Nine times out of ten, better quality is more expensive. So… if you start with a budget, it will allow me to specify products you’ll be comfortable paying for. Don’t know how to set a budget? The Budget Building service is for you. With a question and answer session via phone or email, I can help you pin point a number that you’ll be comfortable with.

How long does it take to receive my completed design?
Honestly, it really does depend on the detail of your project. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, every project is different. When I begin a project, I'll always take into consideration your time frame and give you an estimated completion date. Here are some approximations:
-
Design Advice and Peace Keeper services have the quickest turnaround at 24 to 48 hours.
-
With a single design service, you’ll typically have your completed design back within one working week.
-
More complex projects will start seeing the design process develop at the two week mark.
Let's get down to the brass tacks. How much?
Each design solution on the Services list has a price listed. We can customize your design at my hourly rate of $135. If you’re local to the Tri-Cities, Washington area, I do provide In-Home Consultations in two-hour time blocks.
